Wiles Law Office, PLLC
Wiles Law Office, PLLC, is a general law practice with an emphasis on the following practice areas:
Indian Wills
In addition to helping tribal clients with estate planning, I work to meet the needs of Montana’s tribal citizens by drafting Indian Wills that comply with the American Indian Probate Reform Act of 2004, ("AIPRA").
Indian Law
Experience with tribal self-governance contracting and compacting, and providing legal and policy advice to tribal governments, corporations, or other tribal programs in a wide variety of areas, including natural resources, water, land, and contracts.
Limited Scope Legal Services
Limited scope representation is when a lawyer agrees that he or she will handle some parts of your case and you will handle others. This is different from more traditional arrangements between lawyers and clients where a lawyer is hired to provide legal services on all aspects of a case, from start to finish. Limited scope representation is sometimes called "unbundling" or "discrete task" representation. If you are interested in limited scope representation please contact me to inquire further. I work hard to design legal services that work for you and your budget.
Public Lands / Environmental Law
Experience with both state and federal public land laws including, but not limited to, NEPA, MEPA, ESA, and FLPMA, and works on behalf of clients on a wide variety of public land use issues, including private, state, and federal land access questions and disputes and environmental regulation.
Water/Natural Resources Law
Montana general stream adjudication work. Experience with private, federal, and state mineral management issues, including split estates, leases, mineral title and trespass, and right-of-ways and pipeline disputes governed by the Mineral Leasing Act. Further experience in wind and solar (renewables) contracting, oil and gas law, natural gas royalty issues, and more.
Grazing Law
Experience with both Federal and State grazing law and management to help clients with issues involving grazing disputes, permits, and leases.
